Small ships. Real problems.

Outer Rim Labs is a one-person app studio in Ireland. Each app does one job well, keeps your data yours, and costs less than the coffee you drink while using it. No bank logins. No ads. No trackers.

The fleet

Three ships. Callsigns for now; each gets its own proper name before it reaches the app stores.

Red Three

Your whole picture. One place.

A net-worth tracker. Bank balances, stocks, crypto, gold, property and pension in one number, minus what you owe. Prices update themselves. Your history writes itself from day one. It understands Irish taxes: capital gains, exit tax, the eight-year clock on ETFs.

No bank logins. Your data encrypted with a key only you hold.

Public name coming.

Red Two

Drop in a statement. See your spending.

An expense tracker fed by receipts and bank PDFs. Revolut, N26, AIB, Bank of Ireland, any bank that can export a statement. It reads the documents you already have instead of asking for the keys to your account.

No bank connections, ever. Statements deleted after reading.

Public name coming.

Red One

How good was that plate?

Food quality from a photo of your meal, not calories. A plate score through the nutrition lens you choose, colour and plant variety, and weekly notes on what your week was missing.

Photos scored, then deleted. Your meals never leave with us.

Public name coming.

How we build

A one-person studio can't outspend anyone. It can outcare them.

One job, done well

Every ship has one mission. No feature lists that need a tour. If a thing doesn't serve the job, it doesn't ship.

Your data is yours

Servers in the EU. Nothing sold, nothing tracked. Export everything in one tap, delete everything in one tap, and we mean delete.

Honest pricing

A fair yearly price, said up front. No fake countdowns, no dark patterns, no "limited time". If it isn't worth it, don't pay.

Hangar log

Building in public, plainly. The numbers, the fixes, and what got scrapped.

  • Red Three's maiden flight is in daily field test. End-to-end encryption is being built in before anyone else gets a login.
  • Two-factor sign-in shipped. The founder's own bank statement became the test case for the mortgage maths.
  • Five ideas validated, two scrapped. A calorie-counting app was killed before a line of code: that market closed in 2025.
  • Outer Rim Labs founded. First ship scaffolded from a spreadsheet that had been doing the job for years.
